So Happy To Be Back!

Hi everyone. My computer was out of commision for a few months but it seems to be back to normal now. Soooo much has happened since last time I posted, so little time to tell all. I'm sure glad we're in my very favorite season of all. The days are so beautiful, so colorful & the best is when the days are chilly. I will share a few new pictures soon & I'll be changing the outdated pics of my family. Its taken me a few hours to go through my friends' blogs & see all the pictures I've missed, that was fun. Well, they'll be more to come! Happy fall everyone.

I'd Like To Share?...

Part of my morning devotional if I may. You know, sometimes days can be so ordinary, then there are days when you read something, even as much as a few sentences and it can transform your entire being in just a few short words. We don't all receive things the same, for example what may speak to me, won't necessarily speak to the other person, it usually depends on circumstance. I'm not the type that's easily impressed or struck however this morn I'm compelled to share this with you what grabbed a hold on my heart in the hopes that it can bless your heart as it did me. This is from my book "One Day At A Time" by William Macdonald. If you don't have it, get it & read it. This is no advertisement, just a recommendation.
Herman Melville wrote: "We cannot live for ourselves alone. Our lives are connected by thousand invisible threads, and along these sympathetic fibers, our actions run as causes and return to us as results."
You are writing a Gospel, a chapter each day, By the deeds that you do, by the words that you say, Men read what you write whether faithless or true: Say! What is the Gospel according to you?
When asked which of the Gospels was his favorite, one man answered, "The Gospel according to my mother." John Wesley once said, "I learned more about Christianity from my mother than from all the theologians of England." It is sobering to realize that someone looks at each one of us and thinks, "That's just what a Christian should be." It may be son or daughter, a friend or neighbor, a teacher or student. You are his hero, his model, his ideal. He watches you more closely than you think. Your business life, church life, family life, prayer life - all these set a pattern for him to imitate.
Robert G. Lee wrote: "You can no mere prevent what you are, what you say, and what you do from affecting other people than you can prevent your body from casting a shadow in sunlight. What you are within you shows without, with no ambiguous. You exert an influence which mere language and strong persuasion are feeble to express."
{Indeed sobering thoughts}

I'd like to recognize a dear, sweet friend that for the sake of embarrassment I won't reveal any names. (I know you read my blog) Anyway, this friend came looking for me & was there for me when I least expect it. My dear friend came when I really needed someone during these past weeks of serious trials & conflicts in my life. This persons concern, willingness to listen, & compassion has been a wonderful testimony to me of genuine Christlike behavior. I could only want to "imitate" & follow this example. I can only hope that when your time of grief or trials come, dear friend, that I would be there to catch you as you were to me. Thank you again, for caring for me (don't know why), & for helping emotionally & spiritually.
Prov. 18:24.

Here's A Thought...

Today I was watching Kent Hovind's seminar on YouTube & he was talking about the age of the earth. He's a great expounder on the subjects of creation vs evolution. I highly recommend it. Anyway, he said, which I thought was just fabulous! Maybe some of you won't think much of it but as for me I thought Amen! Regarding the universe and how it was created he mentioned that if you look up the word "uni" in the dictionary it means "one". If you look up the word "verse" it means "a sentence or part of a sentence". So you have "universe" & it means "one-sentence", well, the Bible says in Genesis 1:1 - In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth". That's creation in "one-sentence" or one-verse, if you will. Am I right or have I gone off the deep end? I thought that was great. Tell me your thoughts.

Happy Father's Day!

I dedicate this little poem to all the hardworking, loving, devoted fathers, specially to my sweet husband who is my love and my best friend.

Fathers are wonderful people,
too little understood,
And we do not sing their praises
as often as we should,
For Father struggles daily
to live up to his image
As protector and provider
and hero of the scrimmage,
And perhaps that is the reason
we sometimes get the notion
That fathers are not subject
to the thing we call emotion.
But if you look inside Dad's heart,
where no one else can see,
You'll find he's sentimental
and soft as he can be.
Fathers are just wonderful
in a million different ways,
And they merit loving compliments
and accolades of praise,
For the only reason Dad aspires
to fortune and success
Is to make the family proud of him
and bring them happiness,
And like our heavenly Father,
he's a guardian and a guide,
Someone we can count onto be always on our side. Author unknown
